The fellowship of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity began over six hundred years ago when five students of the University of Bologna joined together for their mutual protection. They were led by renowned Greek scholar and statesman, Manuel Chrysoloras, in forming what is now Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Its North American founding took place on December 10, 1869 at the University of Virginia by William Grigsby McCormick, George Miles Arnold, Edmund Law Rogers, Frank Courtney Nicodemus, and John Covert Boyd. These five friends and brothers embarked on a journey that would one day consist of over 250,000 brothers and 250 chapters. They stood by the four pillars of Leadership, fellowship, scholarship, and service.
Our chapter, Omicron Chi, was started on April 28, 2007. Since then we have become the dominate fraternity on the Nicholls State University Campus in Thibodaux Louisiana. Omicron Chi Chapter participates and hosts various community service events, charitable fund raisers, and exciting social events year round.
